1842 - Young Ireland

Thomas Davis published influential articles in The Nation newspaper. His writings promoted cultural nationalism and independence. The paper became the voice of the Young Ireland movement.

1892 - Labor Movement

James Connolly began organizing socialist groups in Dublin. His efforts marked early stages of the Irish labor movement. These activities would influence later labor and nationalist politics.

1921 - Treaty Talks

The Anglo-Irish negotiations addressed questions of trade and finance. The Irish delegation sought maximum economic independence. British negotiators insisted on maintaining certain imperial ties.

1969 - Police Reform
