1867 - Fenian Rising Preparations

The Irish Republican Brotherhood finalized plans for a nationwide uprising. Secret meetings across the country coordinated the planned rebellion. These preparations would lead to the unsuccessful Fenian Rising.

1921 - Custom House Brigade

The IRA's Custom House Brigade began intensive training for their mission. This preparation would lead to one of the War of Independence's most famous operations. The planning demonstrated the IRA's increasing military sophistication.

1976 - Peace People Movement

The Peace People movement organized its largest demonstration to date. Thousands marched in Belfast calling for an end to violence. The event showed growing public desire for peace in Northern Ireland.
