1912 - Ulster Day
Hundreds of thousands signed the Ulster Covenant opposing Home Rule. The mass demonstration of unionist resolve impressed British opinion. Edward Carson led the signing ceremony at Belfast City Hall.
1920 - Cork Hunger Strike
The condition of hunger strikers in Cork Prison reached a critical stage. International attention focused on Terence MacSwiney's protest. His struggle had become a powerful symbol of republican resistance.
1932 - Economic War
